The Rosary

This is for those who are wondering 'How *do* you pray a rosary?' Well all it is is organized prayers.
History How'd we come up with this rosary anyhow? Well, when religious, prayerful people said there prayers they said many of them. They used rocks so they didn't lose count. After saying a prayer they'd toss the rock. The rosary the whole thing (15 decades!) was a shortened way to pray the Psalms. Weird but true.
Praying the Rosary
  1. make a sign of the cross
  2. first intro bead, say an 'Our Father'
  3. the next 3 beads, say a 'Hail Mary' for faith, hope, and charity(optional)
  4. Last intro bead is a 'Glory be'
  5. Before each decade say an 'Our Father'
  6. After the 'Our Father" is a good time to offer intentions. But After that say a 'Hail Mary' on each bead.
  7. On that separated bead pray the 'Glory be' and 'Oh my Jesus'
Well that's the minium of how ya do that! A prayer book may be more helpful. Here's the prayers
-Our Father- "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen."
-Hail Mary- "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amoung women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen."
-Glory Be- "Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end .Amen"
-Oh my Jesus-"Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the powers of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy. Amen"
there ya go. Short and pretty easy to memorize. Print this out if you'd like to keep it handy. You aren't obligated to pray the whole rosary every night, I don't even do that! But a decade a day is good, or if you are really busy, a decade a week.
The Mysteries Yes, the mysteries of the rosary. There are three for each set of decades. the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious. Back to Scrappy
